About Ray Swimwear
Our story
Ray Swimwear - a brand born from the bond and vision of fraternal twin sisters. This vision unfolded against the backdrop of contrasting personalities and body types, and a common thread that bound them and women across the world - the universal experience of grappling with insecurity.
Despite sharing the womb and arriving in the world at the same time (or rather, two minutes apart), we couldn’t be more different. This extended beyond personality traits and seeped into the very fabric of our beings - our bodies. While every body is unique, the constant comments, scrutiny and comparison to unrealistic, ever-changing beauty standards still gnaws at our confidence.
Together, we are embarking on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Through Ray Swimwear, we are seeking to promote inclusivity in the world of swimwear, in which many women feel vulnerable. We want to create a safe space where women of all shapes, sizes and skin tone can find a piece for themselves and feel at their best.
Ray Swimwear is a platform for us to champion the beauty of diversity and proved that being twins do not mean being identical, let alone women from all over the world being held up to a single beauty standard. We hope to spread the sisterhood between us with women across the world, encouraging women everywhere to embrace their uniqueness, celebrate their bodies, and revel in the irony that made them beautifully human.
Founder's picks
Spill top: I love a good thotty top because they’re so fun! I love that this shows the underboob, but at the same time, you can size up or down depending on how much coverage you would like and how much you’d like to “spill”. This is one of the reasons why the top is called ‘Spill’!
Bait bottoms: The extra ruching, cross detail is so cute. Because I’m quite short, I love that the piece is high cut as it makes my legs look a lot longer than it actually is.
Oyster top: I love that this top has only one adjustable string that hangs around the back of your neck - it makes it look so clean. The ruching on the top is such a cute detail!
Sailor brief: I really like the coverage of the shorts and the V-shape at the front makes me feel extra confident. It’s not a basic bottom and I love the ties at the sides - it adds such a girly touch.
Co-founder's Pick
Spill top: This top makes my flat chest look so much less flat (from the front, not sideways). It provides a good amount of coverage - a little cheeky but perfect amount of coverage for me not to feel uncomfortable. It’s got a cute, wide shape that makes your upper body look good, which I find also makes your waist look good!
Sailor brief: It’s such a unique piece and it definitely provides a lot more coverage than a typical bikini bottom. The V-cut combined with the high sides make my legs look longer. I love that it’s got both a boy-ish and girl-ish charm about it.
Anchor top: I love this top as it provides a comfortable amount of coverage, without drowning out the bust. It also provides a great amount of support - it pushes up and is designed to show a perfect amount of skin that is so flattering for flatter chests.
Sail bottom: I love how simple but elegant this piece is. Like the other bottoms, it sits high on the hip and has a deep V-cut, which makes my legs look long
